The big news for GMC lovers and drive, the 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 truck receives new tech and updates. The GMC Sierra 1500 receives a plenty of equipment changes for the 2020 model year, this generation of the truck’s second year on the market. This includes more technology and some changes to the pickup truck’s powertrain roster.

Among other changes, the 2020 model year is the greater availability of the optional CarbonPro Edition carbon-fiber pickup truck bed. And it has 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel inline-six engine.

2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Truck

On the tech front, the 2020 Sierra will be offered with an upgraded ProGrade Trailering System. It supports up to 15 different cameras including those mounted on trailers. In terms of technology, GMC truck is equipped with far more cameras. That includes cameras mounted on the rear of a trailer to provide a “see-through” trailer effect.

Besides that, the truck’s Trailering App has also been updated. For example, the driver can pre-configure trailer lengths and profiles through the myGMC app and send them to the truck remotely. Alongside that, it has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment now support Sirius XM with 360L, the satellite radio service’s on-demand platform.

The updates tech includes an Adaptive Cruise Control Camera system features on SLT, AT4 and Denali. The system automatically adjusts the Sierra’s speed to match the flow of traffic and it can even bring the truck to a complete stop.

The Engines Updates

The 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-six sees greater availability as it will now be available on AT4 and Denali models equipped with the CarbonPro bed. This is a minor change, but it means diesel fans can now get a carbon fiber bed to go with their Duramax engine which produces 277 hp (207 kW / 281 PS) and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque.

In addition, trucks with the 5.3-liter V8 engine equipped with the company’s Dynamic Fuel Management system. With upgradations, now from an eight-speed automatic before, receives 10-speed automatic transmission, up. That powertrain combo is standard on the Sierra 1500 Denali and AT4, and optional on all four-wheel-drive Sierras in the SLE or higher trim levels. A 10-speed automatic is also offered with the 6.2-liter and 3.0-liter engines.
